China builds its first high-speed rail crossing the sea
00:38

China is building its first high-speed rail crossing the sea. The 277.4-kilometer high-speed rail stretches over three sea gulfs in south China's Fujian Province, linking the provincial capital of Fuzhou and the province's super popular tourist city of Xiamen. It will pass through eight stations with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, cutting travel time between the two cities by half to under an hour. The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
