The Israel Antiquities Authority announced the discovery of a complete 2.5-meter-long elephant tusk, dating back to half a million years ago. The find corresponds to a straight-tusked elephant (Palaeoloxodon antiquus), found near Kibbutz Revadim, in the plain of southern Israel. Archaeologists, paleontologists and conservators of the Israel Antiquities Authority have analyzed the find together with specialists from Tel Aviv University and the University of Israel.
