Ukraine again tried to capture the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP) on Friday night, despite the presence of representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency at the power plant, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily briefing on Saturday.
The ministry said a Ukrainian naval force of more than 250 troops attempted to land on the coast of a lake near the power plant at around 11 p.m. local time (2000 GMT) on Friday, adding that air strikes were carried out against the Ukrainian forces using military helicopters and fighter jets.
There has been no response yet from the Ukrainian side.
