The UK medicines regulator approved the Pfizer/BioNTech bivalent COVID-19 booster.

"We are pleased to announce that we have approved the Pfizer/BioNTech bivalent COVID-19 vaccine. Our review concluded that the updated booster is safe and effective," the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said on Saturday.

The adapted COVID-19 vaccine targets both the original virus and the Omicron variant.
