Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has been admitted to hospital, local media reported on Sunday, adding that the reason for his admission is unclear.

Najib is said to be in stable condition while undergoing necessary tests.

He began a 12-year prison sentence on August 23 after failing in appeal against corruption conviction.
