The Russian defense ministry said on Sunday that Kyiv planned to "seize" the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on September 1 and have "special media representatives" from Ukraine, the United States and Britain to report the transition of control, RIA news agency reported.
The journalists who arrived in Energodar, where the International Atomic Energy Agency mission was visiting the Russian-occupied nuclear power plant, witnessed "a failed attempt" to storm the plant by "Ukrainian saboteurs," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian side has not responded to this report.
