The seventh Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) opened in Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok on Monday, with participants from more than 60 countries and regions, according to Andrei Kobjakow, secretary of the forum committee.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at a plenary session of the EEF on Wednesday to touch upon the global processes and the development of Russia's Far East, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told TASS on Sunday.
Themed "The Path to a Multipolar World," this year's forum aims to throw light on global change led by new economic models and provide a dialogue platform for all stakeholders.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of China's Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, will be attending the session on Wednesday, together with leaders from Armenia, Mongolia and Myanmar.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will deliver video messages to the session participants.
