At least 9 killed from gun violence over the weekend in U.S.

Over the weekend, at least nine people were killed and 48 wounded in multiple shootings in different parts of the United States. The U.S. Gun Violence Archive says more than 30,000 people have died from gun violence in the U.S. so far this year.

In Norfolk, Virginia, police say two people were killed and five others injured by gunfire at a party on Sunday. On the same day, at least six people were injured in a shooting in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. In Maryland, a 15-year-old boy was killed and three other people injured after two gunmen opened fire on Saturday inside a convenience store.

From Friday to Sunday, the city of Chicago reported a number of shootings that left six dead and 34 injured. Last year was the deadliest for the city in 25 years, with nearly 800 homicides recorded. CGTN's Dan Williams reports from Chicago.
