Rare insect amber on display in north China's Shanxi

An exhibition of rare insect amber has kicked off in Shanxi Museum in the capital city of Taiyuan. 439 items of exquisite amber containing insects as inclusions are on display. As the theme title "Solidified Time" reveals, amber is fossilized tree resin formed mostly over tens of millions of years. And some of the oldest amber pieces even date back a hundred million years.
