65 people died and over 170 were injured after a magnitude 6.8 earthquake jolted Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in China's Sichuan Province on September 5. The earthquake relief headquarters in Ganzi activated its highest level of emergency response. More than 6,500 rescue workers composed of fire rescue teams, armed police, medical assistance and various other forces were dispatched to the worst-hit regions.
