Albania broke diplomatic ties with Iran on Wednesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced in a statement, as the leader accused Iran of launching a massive cyber attack against the country this summer.

Albania has ordered Iranian diplomats and embassy staff to leave within 24 hours, said Rama in a video statement sent to the media.

"The government has decided with immediate effect to end diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran," Rama said.
