Iraq's Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled against dissolution of the country's parliament, saying it "does not have the constitutional authority".
The parliament must dissolve itself in a case where it is not carrying out its duties, according to a statement issued by the court.
The ruling comes in the wake of violence in the capital Baghdad last month after followers of prominent Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr stormed the fortified Green Zone, which left over a dozen people killed and more than 200 injured.
