New British Prime Minister Liz Truss spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday and expressed "support for Ukraine's freedom and democracy," adding that "Ukraine can depend on the UK for support in the long term."
Zelenskyy said that he has invited her to visit Ukraine and discussed the participation of the UK in the recovery of Ukraine.
It was Truss's first call with a foreign leader after she became the prime minister, followed by another one with U.S. President Joe Biden in which both leaders vowed to strengthen their relationship as they stand together against Russia.
