Truss announces energy bills capped at 2,500 pounds a year

Britain's new prime minister Liz Truss announced on Thursday a new energy price guarantee which will hold average household bills to no more than 2,500 pounds from October 1.

Truss said the new price guarantee will last for two years and comes in addition to the 400-pound payment to households promised by former Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
