Dozens of villagers killed in Mali by Islamic State attack

Dozens of civilians are dead after jihadists affiliated with the Islamic State group attacked a village in northern Mali, a locally elected official and an armed group leader told AFP.

Following the attack, intense fighting between the Islamic State group and other armed groups in the region broke out. This included rival jihadists who have pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda, AFP said.
