China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has invested more than 51.83 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) in road construction from January to August in 2022. Local authorities said a total of 82 construction programs will be initiated this year, with an investment of over 80 billion yuan (about $11 billion). Eighty of the 82 programs will be national and provincial highways, of which 24 are new programs. The total road length measures 9,805 kilometers, with an investment volume of 63.966 billion yuan (about $9.1 billion). The other two will be a road in rural areas and a passenger and freight transportation station, with investments of 16 billion yuan (about $2.3 billion).
