A total of eight new COVID-19 infections were reported in the Chinese capital of Beijing on Saturday as of 3 p.m., Liu Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a press conference.
Some of the new infections were detected among students returning to the Communication University of China in Chaoyang District, local authorities said, adding that the close contacts in the district are under control and all efforts will be made to prevent and control the epidemic on campus.
