Monsoon flooding has caused thousands of deaths in Pakistan since June. Rescue operations have become difficult as numerous bridges and roads have been washed away. Food is in short supply after water submerged millions of acres of farmland and wiped out hundreds of thousands of livestock. China's aid for flood victims reached the country's southern port city of Karachi last Tuesday.
