The UK, France and Germany on Saturday raised "serious doubts" over Iran's sincerity in seeking a nuclear agreement, warning that Tehran's position "jeopardizes" prospects of restoring the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), as Iran demanded in talks to revive the nuclear deal that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) close a probe into uranium particles found at three sites.
Earlier this month Iran sent its latest response to the European Union's (EU) proposed text to revive the agreement under which Tehran had restrained its nuclear program in exchange for relief from the U.S., EU and UN economic sanctions.
"This latest demand raises serious doubts as to Iran's intentions and commitment to a successful outcome on the JCPoA … Iran's position contradicts its legally binding obligations and jeopardizes prospects of restoring the JCPoA," the three countries said in a statement.
Iran's stock of uranium has enriched close to weapons-grade, the IAEA said in a report on Wednesday, which would be enough for a nuclear bomb and Tehran had still failed to explain the origin of the uranium particles.
The three countries would consult with international partners on how to deal with Iran's nuclear escalation and lack of cooperation with the IAEA under the current circumstance.
Iran has not yet responded to the claim.
