Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he held a phone talk with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday and "briefed him on the course of hostilities."

"I raised the issue of banning visas for Russians. Much time was given to the crisis at ZNPP. Our position is the only way to protect Europe from a nuclear disaster is to demilitarize the plant," he tweeted.

Macron said that situation around the Zaporizhzhia power plant remains of grave concern and called for Russian demilitarization. "In order to ensure the security and safety of the nuclear facilities, we stand with President Zelenskyy in calling for the Russian forces to withdraw from the area," he tweeted on Saturday.

Russia has repeatedly denied claims that the Zaporizhzhia power plant is being used for military purposes.
