Crews are continuing to repair roads, restore communications and reconnect power lines in the areas hit worst by the recent magnitude-6.8 earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province. It remains a top priority to search for survivors and ensure that daily supplies are available to people in the worst-hit areas. Sichuan Province has deployed nine helicopters, including five dispatched to Ya'an City.

A power repair team went into remote villages in Moxi Town on foot early on Sunday morning to accelerate the restoration of electricity to the town. More than five administrative villages in Moxi have had their power supply restored. Moxi has completed a risk assessment for local businesses and allowed some stores to reopen.
