China's Olympic figure skating champion Han Cong has been appointed as a member of the Single & Pair Skating Technical Committee, the International Skating Union (ISU) announced on Monday after the ISU Council met online on September 7.
The committee is mainly in charge of advising, supervising, maintaining technical rules and writing reports for relevant councils for single and pair skating, ice dance as well as other skating events.
With the new role, Han is expected to be the international voice of Chinese skaters.

Han, 30, who started figure skating at the age of six, won the pairs gold with his partner Sui Wenjing at a record 239.88 points during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, becoming the second Chinese Olympic gold winner after Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo in 2010.
Han and Sui are two-time world champions, six-time Four Continents champions, and also runners-up at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
