China's national observatory upgraded the typhoon alert to red as Muifa, the 12th typhoon this year, is approaching the country's eastern coastal areas. Typhoon Muifa is expected to make landfall in coastal areas from Wenling to Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province, according to the weather forecast. Affected by Typhoon Muifa, a total of 7,391 merchant ships have taken shelter in ports and anchorages along the coast of Zhejiang. All ferry routes along the coast are suspended.
