Bilateral cooperation between China and Kazakhstan has entered a new phase with a wind power venture in the Central Asian nation fast nearing completion. State-owned China National Petroleum Corp. has joined hands with Luxembourg-based Eurasian Resources Group to set up a 250 million U.S. dollar wind power facility in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. The renewable power project is expected to be fully operational by 2024 and will reduce 520,000 tons of carbon emissions every year.
