Ahead of this year's Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which will take place in the historic city of Samarkand, CGTN spoke to some people in Uzbekistan to share their expectations about this summit. 

"Firstly, the SCO is not a geopolitical tool. We are not collectively targeting other countries. It's more about developing our own economies, creating favorable conditions for national development and working for the well-being of our people. I personally believe that Central Asia plays an important role in this organization, and the summit is of great significance to Central Asian countries, with China playing a key role," said Boboyor Turaev, a psychologist.
