French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has said the increase allowed for household power prices, driven by geopolitical tensions over the Ukraine conflict and a lack of domestic nuclear power output, will be capped at 15 percent. The announcement was made at a news conference on Wednesday.
Earlier, President Emmanuel Macron had called for a 10-percent reduction in the country's energy use in the coming weeks and months to avoid the risk of rationing and cuts this winter.
