China is on high alert as Typhoon Muifa, the 12th typhoon this year, is expected to unleash gales and torrential rain on some of the country's coastal areas. Muifa is expected to make landfall in coastal areas of Zhejiang Province on Wednesday afternoon or evening.  The National Meteorological Center has urged local authorities in affected areas to make emergency preparations for the typhoon and asked residents to avoid travel during periods of strong wind and rain.
