Along the border of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea lie the Changbai Mountains. On top of the main peak is Tianchi Lake, the highest volcanic lake in the world and the deepest of its kind in China. The Changbai Mountain reserve has long been a major summer and winter tourist destination. However, autumn is a gorgeous season here as well, due to the diverse color palette of leaves in the forest.
