China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to construct the Kyrgyzstan section of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. When completed, it will be the shortest freight route from China to the Middle East and Europe, injecting the old Silk Road with a more modern vitality.
