Son Heung-min came off the bench to hit an incredible 13-minute hat-trick in Tottenham's 6-2 rout of Leicester on Saturday, lifting his team joint top in the Premier League.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte left Son out of the starting line-up for Saturday's Premier League clash after the South Korean forward failed to score in his previous eight appearances.

Earlier, Conte had warned that no player was undroppable, Dejan Kulusevski came in for Son, who finished as the Premier League's joint top scorer last season.

Coming on around the hour mark to replace Brazilian summer signing Richarlison, Son scored three times in 14 minutes to prove his sharpness.

"I am really happy for Sonny today, you know what I think of the player," Conte told Sky Sports.

Explaining his decision in more detail, Conte added, "Sometimes you don't understand this and think you can play but the performance goes down. Rotation is good for the team and for player welfare. If you give energy and you play in the way Son played, everyone is happy."

With Son back in form, Harry Kane scoring his sixth Premier League goal of the season, Richarlison already making an impact, Dejan Kulusevski continuing to impress and Lucas Moura still to come back from injury, Conte now has a formidable array of attacking options.

"My finishing has been poor this season. I've also been a little bit unlucky," Son said.

The 30-year-old went on to say: "I was really disappointed, but I knew the goal was coming and I wasn't worried about it. I was working hard and always want to help the team."

"I'm always having great supporters behind me and great staff. This makes me always believe and make me strong in these tough moments. I'm getting emotional to be honest, with the amazing support.”

Tottenham's fifth win from seven league games moved them above Arsenal and level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Bottom of the table Leicester's sixth successive defeat will pile pressure on boss Brendan Rodgers.

Also on Saturday, Jack Grealish scored his first goal this season and Erling Haaland extended his record-breaking hot streak as Manchester City powered to a 3-0 win over 10-man Wolves, and striker Alexander Isak equalized from the penalty spot to earn Newcastle United a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
