Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on Monday in New York and thanked him for his historic contribution to China-U.S. relations. This year marks 50 years since President Nixon's visit to China and the signing of the Shanghai Communique. Wang Yi said China's U.S. policy has always been stable and consistent. However, he said Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan and the pending Taiwan Policy Act challenge the political foundation of China-U.S. relations.
