China launched a new satellite, Yunhai-1 03, atop a Long March-2D carrier rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China on Wednesday morning, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The satellite will be used for atmospheric, maritime and space monitoring, disaster prevention and mitigation, and scientific experiments.
This marked the 438th launch for the Long March carrier rocket series.
