A group of migrants to the United States has filed a lawsuit against the Florida governor who sent them to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts last week. The lawsuit alleges Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lured the migrants from Texas shelters onto a chartered flight with false promises of jobs and assistance. It says DeSantis also "interfered with the Federal Government's exclusive control over immigration in furtherance of an unlawful goal and a personal political agenda." DeSantis is among several Republican governors who have relocated migrants to northern parts of the U.S. in protest against President Joe Biden's immigration policies. Democrats have responded by accusing the Republicans of using the migrants as political pawns.
