Sichuan earthquake survivor rescued after losing contact for 17 days

Gan Yu, who once held his position at a hydropower station during the earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province, was rescued in Shimian County in the province's Ya'an City on Monday morning after being out of contact for 17 days. Gan was transported to the province's Luding County by a rescue helicopter in the afternoon. At present, a full medical examination has shown that his vital signs are stable.
