Eurozone downturn deepens in September

The Eurozone economic downturn deepened in September, with the S&P Global Flash Eurozone Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) falling to a 20-month low of 48.2.

"Business activity contracted for a third consecutive month. Although only modest, the rate of decline accelerated to a pace which, barring pandemic lockdowns, was the steepest since 2013," S&P Global noted.
