It's been two and a half years since COVID-19 changed the lives of thousands of infected people around the world in unprecedented and inexplicable ways. They are now incapacitated and limited in their daily lives, yet there is still no solution for what ails them. In October 2021, the World Health Organization described a wide-ranging illness that it dubbed "persistent COVID-19" or "long-term COVID-19". Its three most common symptoms can persist for up to three months: fatigue with physical pain and mood swings, cognitive problems and difficulty breathing.
