Ailunwan marine ranch in east China's Shandong Province was built in the late 1980s to combat overfishing at that time. Science-based marine ranches limit human activities in designated sea areas, protecting the marine environment and natural fishery resources as a result.

The marine ranch also has leisure fishing and seafood catering.
