Typhoon Noru claims 5 lives, causes widespread damage in Philippines

Super Typhoon Noru made landfall in the Philippine municipality of Burdeos on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (0930 GMT), bringing heavy rains and severe winds to capital Manila and several areas on the main Luzon island. Five rescue workers in Bulacan Province have been reported dead. The authorities have ordered residents to evacuate to higher ground.
