Crews recovering wreckage from Puget Sound floatplane crash
01:09

Crews are raising the wreckage of a floatplane that crashed into Puget Sound, a deep inlet of the eastern North Pacific Ocean, on September 4, killing 10 people.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash which occurred off Whidbey Island, Washington State, the United States. One body was recovered before the initial search was suspended.

Only small pieces of debris were found immediately after the crash, partly because of the current and water depth in the area. The bulk is somewhere in or near the estimated 46-to-61-meter-deep shipping channel where it crashed.

The plane crashed about 20 minutes into its flight.
