The death toll from Typhoon Noru in the Philippines has risen to nine, CNN Philippines reported on Tuesday, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Five rescuers died during an operation in San Miguel, Bulacan Province, north of Manila. Their cause of death remains undetermined.
