Located southeast of Qufu City in east China's Shandong Province, Nishan Mountain has immense historical and cultural significance as it is the birthplace of Confucius, the great Chinese philosopher, educator and founder of Confucianism. Covering an area of 35.76 square kilometers, the Nishan Sacred Land is situated in the Nishan Cultural Tourism Resort on the mountain. The most prominent landmark here is a 72-meter-high statue of Confucius. The resort also features a grand lecture hall and a temple of Confucius. It is a cultural base where visitors can learn about Chinese culture and experience Confucianism in depth.
