Northern Iraq has been experiencing extreme high temperature weather recently. Due to reduced rainfall and rising temperatures, the Euphrates and Tigris, the two main rivers, are going through severe drought and a fall in water levels. The two river basins are suffering severe water shortages, affecting local residents' lives and causing a negative impact on agricultural production.
