Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday signed documents to accept the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions into Russia following referenda that took place from September 23 through 27.

Ukraine and its international partners have dismissed the Russian-led referenda as "shams and a violation of international law."
