Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and parliament chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk signed an application for "accelerated accession to NATO" on Friday, according to the presidency on telegram.
"We have already proven our compatibility with (NATO) alliance standards," Zelenskyy said in a video. "We are taking a decisive step by signing Ukraine's application for accelerated accession to NATO," he added.
