The Baihuashan grape is a unique wild plant found only in Beijing. It was discovered in the wild for the first time in 1984, and an artificial breeding program was launched in 2010. Only two have been found in the wild. Baihuashan grape was added as a national first-level protected plant in 2020. CGTN talked to Lin Qinwen, a senior engineer at the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He tells us about their efforts to help this grape species survive and multiply.
