Burkina Faso Army Captain Ibrahim Traore declared in a statement read on national television on Friday evening that the country's president, Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, has been ousted.
Traore also declared the suspension of the constitution and the transition charter, the dissolution of the transition government, and the imposition of a 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.
