Winding for about 6,300 kilometers, the Yangtze River is an integral pillar of China's economy. Starting from the mountains of Tibet, the Yangtze traverses 11 provinces and cities before emptying itself into the East China Sea in Shanghai. The Yangtze is a strategic water resource and a source of clean energy.
