Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday announced that the country is imposing new sanctions against Iran.

The sanctions are in response to the alleged "human rights violations that have been committed in Iran," in particular the "actions committed by Iran's so-called "Morality Police," which led to the death of Mahsa Amini while under their custody," the ministry said in a statement.
