An amendment proposed by the U.S., the UK and Australia for legalizing their nuclear-submarine cooperation at the 66th annual International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference was thwarted by the Chinese mission. The trio, known as AUKUS, having naval reactor programs as cover for developing nuclear weapons, is bound to severely damage the security and stability of the Asia-Pacific region.
