China urges investigating, holding accountable African children's rights abusers
00:46

On Monday, the UN Human Rights Council held a session on racial discrimination toward Afro-descendants at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. China called on countries to investigate and hold accountable those that abuse the rights of African children. Chen Xu, China's permanent representative to the UN, said children of African descent have been at a disadvantage. Due to systemic and racial hatred, their human rights and basic freedoms are often seriously violated, as can be seen in cases of child workers, poverty and gun violence on school campuses.
